Generations

Hum, I woke up this morning next to my mom on a fold-out-couch in Orange County to the voice of my Marmar (Norwegian for grandma) yelling, “wake up, it’s 9:15, do you want a mushroom crab omelet or not?” HEAVEN! I quit my job yesterday with a mixture of extreme relief and nostalgia. Jeni and I leave for India in only 5 more days! At this point all of the kinks have been worked out and now we are simply trying to get in as much time with our family and friends as possible. Today my main agenda item is a triple-pedicure. It is beautiful to have three generations all together, not to mention funny as hell.

Ten, Nine, .....

Jeni and I will only be in the US for 9 more days. Ahhhh. We are both so excited we can hardly contain bursts of “Yippee.” We have both bought all of our necessities, from bug spray to Mac eyeliner! I have a brand new backpack (learned the luggage is a no-no lesson in Thai Land.) We have yucky tablets to make water safe for drinking and I have been posting essential questions on the India Mike website, such as “what to wear clubbing in Mumbia.” I want to encourage all of our friends and family to post messages to us, as we will certainly be home sick. I have heard and read that visiting India is the worst and best trip you can ever take in your life. Love and support from all of you will be much appreciated and certainly needed for those rough times.
